01 / ABOUT EXPO 2027
Why Is the World Coming to Belgrade in 2027?
days of EXPO, from 15 May to 15 August 2027.
international participants on the official list, with the number still growing.
of exhibition space, according to BIE data.
EXPO is more than an exhibition — it is an international meeting place for countries, cultures, ideas, technology and people. For 93 days, from 15 May to 15 August 2027, the world will come together in Belgrade for Specialised Expo 2027.
Under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All”, play, sport, music, creativity and innovation become a common language connecting people from different parts of the world. The goal is not simply to see something new, but to participate, learn, explore and experience how the future can look.
Belgrade was selected as the host city on 21 June 2023, making this the first Specialised Expo to be held in the Western Balkans.
Why is that a reason to travel? Because EXPO 2027 is an experience Belgrade will not repeat every year. In a single trip, visitors can discover national pavilions and cultures from around the world, experience sport and music, explore new technologies and innovations — and then continue discovering Belgrade and the rest of Serbia.
NERA is building this guide to help you decide when to visit, what to see and how to turn your EXPO trip into much more than just one day at the exhibition.
Don’t Just Come to Watch. Come to Experience It.
The official programme announces more than 8,000 events and activities over 93 days — culture, sport, music, innovation and technology. National pavilions, daily performances, workshops, interactive experiences and spaces for play mean that EXPO is far more than a single exhibition hall.
✈ Flying Taxis
One of the most visible innovations announced for EXPO 2027 will bring visitors closer to the future of urban air mobility. We will follow the official details on demonstrations and availability as they are announced.
🤖 Robots Dance the Moravac
Traditional Serbian folk dance meets the technology of the future. Humanoid robots have already demonstrated the Moravac, symbolically bringing together Serbian tradition, community and the innovations surrounding EXPO 2027.
🎵 8,000+ Events
Music, sport, culture, innovation and technology throughout the EXPO summer. The programme is designed to offer a different experience from one day to the next.
🌍 The World in One Place
National pavilions bring different cultures, ideas, flavours, music, sport and innovation together in one city.
⚡ Technology & AI
EXPO connects innovation with the everyday visitor experience, while technology-focused events further place Belgrade on the map of new ideas.
🇷🇸 Belgrade + Serbia
EXPO is the reason to make the trip. Belgrade, Serbian cuisine, events and the rest of the country are the reasons to stay longer.
Why 2027?
Perhaps you have been saying for years that one day you would like to discover Serbia. EXPO 2027 gives you the perfect reason. Come for the world gathering in Belgrade. Stay for Belgrade, the food, the people, the landscapes and the Serbia you didn’t expect.
